We’re so happy you found us! Ellis + Eyre is a higher ed marketing agency with decades of experience. Our specialities are web strategy, enrollment marketing, college branding, or anything relating to writing. You know: the stuff you don’t have time for but desperately need. The Story of Our Name
We’re English majors, bookworms, writers, readers, liberal arts devotees, lit fans. And we realized that most of our clients in higher education are too. So we built an agency for all of us—and selected a name that honors the written word.
The name Ellis + Eyre was inspired by the Brontë sisters. Ellis Bell was Emily Brontë's pen name and Eyre refers, of course, to Charlotte Brontë's famous heroine, Jane Eyre. The Brontës were expert communicators with strong language sensibilities—as are many of the directors in higher education marketing with whom we work. If Emily or Charlotte were living today, they might very well be writing and reading novels at night while wrangling university websites and press releases by day.
Our Services
We are a small, nimble agency capable of magical and mighty feats. We work on a project basis and also accept retainers. We focus mainly on college enrollment marketing and websites for colleges but we also have extensive experience in advancement and internal communications. Web Strategy & Project management
We provide full-scale project management for college website redesigns. Say you have selected your design firm to do a redesign, but you don’t have the internal staff to manage the project from your side. We can serve as your in-house project managers, liaising with your design firm, organizing your content, migrating your content, getting approvals from your faculty and deans, coordinating with your university’s IT department, and supervising your staff and freelancers.

Do WE design Websites for colleges?
We are not a web design firm, but we work beautifully in tandem with your web design firm to develop your content strategy, UX, and website content. We have partnered with some of the best digital agencies in higher ed and can give you great recommendations on web designers, if you’re looking for one.
Colleges often hire us to help them plan for a website redesign and sort out what to tackle first before hiring a design firm. We perform content audits, create redesign roadmaps, provide strategic recommendations, write RFPs for website redesigns, help with vendor selection, organize your information architecture and prepare your content for migration.
